Before we went to Manchester, all Anya could talk about was the countdown to staying in a hotel. It was the most exciting part of staying away and the children couldn’t wait!
I was slightly concerned that it wouldn’t live up to expectations and indeed as we pulled into the car park there was a tinge of disappointment that it wasn’t a huge skyscraper of a hotel. However by the time we got to the room the excitement was back and the whole thing was magical for the children!
They found it thrilling that we were all in the same room and the first night there was A LOT of giggling! They insisted on having a bath as they wanted to try out everything.
In the morning Matthew and Anya made us a hot drink. I think this is a rite of passage as I remember doing the same for my parents.
Then we headed to the restaurant for breakfast and their eyes lit up at the range of food and drink available: I think they tried everything!
We could not have asked for a better first experience for our hotel visit and the children really didn’t want to come home!
